The Experience

What can I expect during a session?
For Reiki, you remain completely clothed and lie on a massage table. You will be offered an eye pillow with a clean covering, and music will help to facilitate relaxation.

Each session begins with a conversation to understand your current state, needs, and goals. Before the session we may incorporate somatics and breathwork to help prepare you for relaxation.

Once you are on the table, we will begin with ceremonial sound. During the session I will perform energy healing, which will be mostly hands-off with moments of hand-on practice with your consent. I will provide prompts and guided visualization for you depending on your unique goals and what I experience through the energy work.

People have different responses, and these can change from one session to the next. Deep relaxation, insights, emotional release, and a powerful sense of expansion, groundedness, and spiritual connection are common experiences. The session is not guided by formula but involves my dynamic response to what unfolds in real time.

Should you have a strong emotional release, somatic techniques are provided to help you move the energy through without becoming overwhelmed.

Time is included at the end for you to absorb and integrate your experience, though integration can take place for weeks, months, or years after.

What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese healing practice that promotes relaxation, balance, and well-being. It is based on the idea of channeling energy through the practitioner’s hands to support the body’s natural healing processes. The word "Rei" means "universal" or "divine" and "Ki" means "life force energy." I practice in the Usui lineage, a traditional form of Reiki that emphasizes simplicity, intentionality, and connection. While Reiki is not a replacement for medical care, it complements other wellness practices beautifully by creating a calm and supportive space for restoration.

What is your training/background?

-Reiki Master Training (Usui lineage, trained under Melissa Crowhurst)
-Certificate in Somatic Stress Release through The Embody Lab
-9-month yoga teacher training with Victor Dubin at Nourish
-Certificate in Meditation from Loka Yoga School
-Certificate in Breathwork from Loka Yoga School
-Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from UC Santa Cruz

I've been actively teaching yoga and other mindfulness and movement arts since 2014, ultimately owning and operating an aerial arts and movement studio in Bishop, CA. My experience running a studio shaped my commitment to creating safe and welcoming spaces for exploration and growth. Community is a very strong value of mine and I continually look for ways to connect clients with one another and the broader Boulder community, recognizing the diverse benefits this brings.

Academically, I hold a BA in Cultural Anthropology, which gave me a deeper understanding of the patterns of healing and the importance of community across time and cultures.

How can couples energy healing help my relationship?
My couples energy work offering is designed to help restore or deepen intimacy, love, authenticity, and trust in your partnership. Through individual and shared healing, somatic practices, and guided breathwork and meditation, this session creates a safe, supportive space for the two of you to reconnect to yourselves and each other. This session is not designed to talk through or try to resolve any potential conflicts, but rather is intended to dig underneath those conflicts to unearth and reinvigorate the love that you share, so that it may inform your path forward together. You’ll leave with a renewed connection to your love and practices to continue nurturing your relationship at home.

Can I book a session for my baby or child?
Yes, please note that a guardian must be present for healings of children under 18.

Can I book a session for my pet?
My focus is on humans, however, I am open to exceptions for special circumstances of great need.

What if I don’t believe in ‘energy’?
If you don't believe in "energy," I am likely a perfect match for you. I will never force you into any beliefs or magical thinking. Reiki and energy work is open to interpretation and can be made sense of through a variety of lenses. You don’t need to believe in  anything specific to deeply benefit from the process of intentionally relaxing, receiving care, and engaging evidence-based practices like meditation, somatics, and breathwork.

My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, a decade of experience in the healing arts, and my academic studies in Anthropology, where I explored healing practices across diverse cultures. Intentionality, care, symbolic action, and belief can have profound effects on the body and mind, even if the mechanisms are not fully understood scientifically. Read more here about where the science stands on Reiki and read here about critical thinking and why trying Reiki is well worth it.

Can Reiki help with anxiety or depression?
It is important to me not to make any unsupported claims and to never misguide patients. Reiki and somatic techniques are not substitutes for professional mental health care, but they can complement it. These practices promote relaxation, regulate the nervous system, and help release emotions that haven't yet found their outlet. Social care can be powerful and deeply meaningful. It won't hurt to try, but please don't use Reiki as a replacement for seeking professional mental health.

Do I need to have experience with Reiki or yoga?
No prior experience is necessary! All sessions are beginner-friendly and tailored to your comfort level. I’ll guide you through each step of the process.

How often should I book sessions?
The frequency depends on your needs and goals. Some clients book sessions weekly or bi-weekly for ongoing support, while others prefer monthly or as-needed appointments for maintenance and self-care. I would recommend bi-monthly as a baseline for ongoing care.

What should I wear to my session?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to relax fully. You’ll remain fully clothed during sessions.

How do I prepare for my first session?
Before your first session, you’ll complete an intake form to share your goals. Shower before your session and be sure you are well hydrated and have a light meal beforehand, avoiding strong flavors and spicy foods.

Can I purchase a gift card for a session?
Yes! Gift cards are available and make a thoughtful gift for friends and loved ones.
